At Saddleback, interns are an important part of the team. Whether you sign on for a full-time, part-time, or year-long church planting internship, you’ll be working on critical projects. You might help lead worship, star in our church announcement videos, begin a ministry, design the bulletin, or personally assist Pastor Rick. Types of Internships

Full-Time

(Year-Long Internship)

As a full-time intern at Saddleback, you’ll receive hands-on training while serving alongside experienced pastors and ministry leaders. As an intern at Saddleback, you'll gain training and experience that will help you develop the leadership skills needed for the next stage of your ministry. Interning at Saddleback provides a unique perspective into vocational ministry as you receive leadership training, teamwork experience, and skill development. Full-time interns commit to serving for one year, typically serving full-time hours.

Full-time internship opportunities are available in the following areas: Junior High Ministry, High School Ministry, College Ministry, Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Small Groups/Spiritual Maturity, Weekend Experience/Guest Services, Membership/Pastoral Care Team, Global Outreach/Missions, 20s/30s/Singles Ministry, AVL Technician Internship, Video Production, Property Development, Student Worship Arts, Worship Arts/Weekend Production.

Part-Time

(Fall, Spring, or Summer Internship)

As a part-time intern at Saddleback, you’ll receive hands-on training while serving alongside experienced pastors and seasoned professionals in their respective fields. As a part-time intern at Saddleback, you'll gain experience that will help you develop your vocational and leadership skills for your future, which may or may not be in a vocational ministry setting. Part-time interns must commit to a minimum of 15 hours per week and a length of around 4 months.

Part-time internship opportunities are available in the following areas: College Ministry, Social Media, Communications/Marketing, Accounting, Web Design, 3D Modeling/Animation, Graphic Design, IT, Property Development, Writing/Journalism, Video Production, Art ministry, Retreats, Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Men’s Ministry, Small Groups, Weekend Experience/Guest Services, Local Outreach, Global Outreach/Missions, 20s/30s/Singles Ministry, Office of the Pastor, Pastors Training, Script/Curriculum writing, Worship Arts/Weekend Production.

Church Planting

(Year-long Internship)

As a full-time church planting intern at Saddleback, you’ll receive hands-on training while serving alongside experienced pastors and ministry leaders at a regional Saddleback campus. As a church planting intern, you'll experience and develop the skills and leadership needed to plant a church. Interning at Saddleback provides a unique perspective into vocational ministry as you receive leadership training, teamwork experience, and skill development.

Academic Track: Saddleback Church currently has academic partnerships with Rockbridge Seminary, Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, and Vanguard University.

While completing your internship, you can qualify for academic credit toward your Master’s degree through these partnerships.

Want to intern at Saddleback Church but the Lake Forest campus is too far? We also have opportunities to intern at our regional campuses, including Anaheim, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Los Angeles, and Rancho Capistrano! Experience an internship at a regional campus with Saddleback Kids, Student Ministries, Worship Arts, and more! An internship at one of Saddleback’s regional campuses provides a unique collaborate learning environment that will mobilize you to live and lead with purpose. You’ll help plan and facilitate weekend services, learn how to lead an effective assimilation process and healthy small group ministry, and communicate for life change and learn an effective spiritual growth pathway. You’ll also learn effective processes for recruiting, developing, mobilizing, and caring for volunteers. All Saddleback Church interns receive monthly leadership development training, intentional community building time, and benefit from a great experience serving alongside Saddleback Church staff and volunteers.
